She was born March 2, 1921, in Pettis County, Mo., near Manila, the daughter of Irvin Charles Ziegel and Hallie Opal (Howery) Ziegel. On December 21, 1940, in Camdenton, Mo., she married Finis Armstard Coffey and he preceded her in death on November 8, 1990.
Mrs. Coffey was a homemaker and an active member of First Baptist Church, Windsor. Viola worked at the Windsor International Shoe Factory for a number of years. She also worked at the Brown & Ross Meat Locker for many years.
Survivors include a son, Mike Coffey and his wife Mary Ann, Kansas City, Mo.; 2 granddaughters, Sheri Ann Shiddell and her husband John, and Shannon Dee Eskijian and her husband Brian; 6 grandchildren, Kristina, Tyler, Jordyn, Lexi, Addy, and Jake; a sister, Dorothy Acker, Windsor, Mo.; and a niece, Carolyn Riddle, Windsor, Mo. She was preceded in death by 2 great-grandchildren, Julia and Luke.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 4, 2011, 1:00 p.m., at the Hadley Funeral Home, Windsor, with Rev. Doug Hall officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. before the service. Burial will be in the Laurel Oak Cemetery, Windsor. The family suggests contributions to the First Baptist Church, Windsor and contributions can be left in care in care of the funeral home.
