Mrs. Jewell was a homemaker, a member of Tanglewood Baptist Church and a former member of Washington Avenue Baptist Church.
Survived by a son and daughter-in-law; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a stepson.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Alvin Thermon Beavers and her second husband, Samuel Alfred Jewell; two sisters, Ruby Floyd and Louise Hendrix; and four brothers, Horace, Lloyd, Heyward and George Hendrix.
Funeral services: Wednesday, February 3, 2010, chapel of Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.
Burial: Westview Cemetery in Liberty.
