Carrie Lee Adams

Carrie Lee Adams was born in Magnolia Springs, TX on March 2, 1934 to the late Emmitt and Viola Johnson. She was united with Howard Adams, Sr., and to this union four sons were born. She later moved to Orange, Texas and united with Mount Olive Baptist Church where she served faithfully for 48 years. Carrie was employed with the West Orange - Cove School District for many years as a food service provider, at Orange Community Action Association, Americare Professionals and ended her employment as a private health care provider. She had a giving spirit, one who always willing to do whatever she could for her children, family and friends. Preceding her in death are two sisters, Ruby Lee Phillips and Marie Shelvy; and one brother, Leon Johnson. Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon on Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church located 106 West Park Avenue in Orange, TX with Pastor Ronnie A.E. Crockett officiating. Interment to follow at Magnolia Springs Cemetery in Jasper, TX under the direction of Colonial Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be at the church from 9:00 a.m. til time of service. She leaves to cherish her memories her loving husband of 53 years, Howard Adams, Sr.; four sons, Roy Adams (Brenda) of Burke, VA, Howard Adams, Jr. (Cynthia), Calvin Adams (Margaret) and Michael Adams (Janet) of Orange, TX; eight grandchildren, Tremain Lewis (Vonda), Shawnette Adams, Charissa Adams, Carmyn Adams, Chase Adams, Adrian "Nikki" Keegan, Cayla Adams and JaKeenan Cotton; one great - granddaughter, Nadia Lewis; four sister-in-laws, Mable Swain and Alean (L.R.) Booker of Magnolia Springs, TX, Wanda Faye Cooper (Sam) and Joyce Kelly (Herman) of Kirbyville, TX; two brother-n-laws, Melvin Adams of Orange, TX and Jerry Adam (Catherine) of Magnolia Springs, TX; three nephews, Frank Johnson (Debra) of Beaumont, TX, Melvin Boyer of Lafayette, LA and Lonnie Boyer (Yolanda) of Houston, TX and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
