Peter Garcia was a WWII veteran, (PFC), born on June 29, 1917 in Ottowa, Kansas to Lucio (Espidirion) Mundo and Juanita (Trejo) Garcia and was a steel worker with the Youngstown Steel Works for 35 years in East Chicago, Indiana. He lived in Aurora, Illinois until his death in 1981, due to complications following brain surgery. He was survived by his wife Esther Leal Garcia (deceased in 2000, buried in Texas) and was the father of twelve (12) children. (deceased in 1991), Guadalupe Ponce of East Chicago, IN, Victor Garcia, of Chugiak, AK, Jenny Krantz, of South Bend, IN., Rosemarie Serna, of Elgin, IL., Elizabeth Munoz, of South Bend, IN., Xavier Garcia of Dallas, TX.. Peter M. Garcia, Jr. of Newport, Kentucky. At the time of his death he also had two brothers, Henry T. Mundo, of East Chicago,IN.(deceased in 1999), Angelo Garcia, of East Chicago, IN., and a sister, Mary Hero, of St. John, IN. He was preceded in death by his father Lucio (buried in Mexico)in 1963, his mother Juanita in 1932, and his brother Ralph in 1935. He had many grand children and great-grand children. He is missed as a dad, grand-dad, and great-grand dad with a great sense of humor and was a very "smooth guy." We love and miss you Dad, and grandpa. Rest in peace.
