Doris Evelyn Bush, 90, a resident of Rosewood Care Center, died there at 9:15 a.m. Sunday, April 7, 2002. She was born Dec. 13, 1911, in Berwick, the daughter of William Clyde and Nellie Crow Meadows. She married William J. "Bill'' Bush on Oct. 16, 1928, in Monmouth. He died Dec. 25, 1987. Surviving are six daughters, Wanda (Merrill) McMillan and Dixie (Richard) Lynch, both of Galesburg, Agnes (Ivan) Roberts and Evelyn (Ervin) Morris, both of Knoxville, Loann (Warren) Mathews, Pocahontas, Ark., and Carol (Jerry) Holley, Italy, Texas; one son, Charles W. (Linda) Bush Sr., Galesburg; 33 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Phyllis Asher, three brothers, two sisters, two grandchildren and a great-grandchild. She was reared and educated in the Abingdon area. She was a homemaker. She worked as a cook at Butler Manufacturing Co., as a sprayer for the former Abingdon Pottery and as a housekeeper at the Knox County Nursing Home. She was of Baptist faith. Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Knoxville Cemetery. Hurd-Hendricks Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Memorials may be made to Dept. 500 at Rosewood Care Center.
