She died on 17 January 1917 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, of myocarditis. She was buried in the Trinity United Methodist Church Cemetery, 6230 Beatties Ford Road, Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, 28216-2106.
