JACKSON CURTIS
---Jackson Curtis, was born March 4, 1844, died at his home west of La Plata on April 19, 1918, aged seventy-four years, one month and eleven days.
---He was married to Miss Mary Kessinger November 12, 1865 To this union were born five children, two of whom died in infancy. The three surviving are John and William K. Curtis and Mrs. Madie Smith.
---Mr. Curtis joined the Baptist Church at Chariton Grove on January 20, 1888 and was baptized the same year.
---Funeral services were held at the home April 17, conducted by Rev. A.R. Foster. Interment in La Plata Cemetery.

NOTE: His obituary (a transcribed copy) incorrectly listed his birth year as 1884 and a marriage date of June 11, 1886. I believe both dates to be typing errors.
