Charles grew up in Gulfport, Mississippi and graduated from Gulfport High School in 1959. He attended Vanderbilt University where he was member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity and graduated from University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in business management where he was a member of Delta Sigma Pi Professional Business Fraternity. He worked in welding supply sales and management for 44 years before retiring in 2010. Charles was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pascagoula for 45 years where he was the head usher. He was involved in many organizations in the Pascagoula area. He was past president of the Kiwanis International, Maskers Carnival Club, American Welding Society and past Commodore of the Singing River Yacht Club.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Cynthia Ware Everett; two children, Philip Ware Everett of Mobile, Alabama and Lauren Marie Everett Huggins (Van Clark Huggins) of Greenville, Alabama; two grandchildren, Hannah Marie Huggins and Addison Everett Huggins; four cousins, Richard Smith, MD of Oklahoma, OK, Randall Smith of Orlando FL, Gerald Smith, of Birmingham, AL and Marian Jacobson, Singapore.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 7, 2011 at First United Methodist Church in Pascagoula at 2:00PM with visitation held from 12:00-2:00PM prior to service. Interment will follow at Machpelah Cemetery.
Pallbearers for the service will be Richard Smith, MD, Randall Smith, Gerald Smith, Joseph Watts Martin, Jr., Joseph Watts Martin, III, Timothy Lyons Martin, Christopher J. Gully, William L.
