Born on June 30, 1930 in Woodsville, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Walter and Anna (Bouchard) Clark.
After graduating from the Dover Hospital School of Nursing, Betty worked as a registered nurse for many years, most notably at York Hospital in York, Maine. After moving to her husband's native Georgia Bend in 1978, she joined the Volunteer Fire Department. There she would spend twenty five years, from 1982 until 2007.
In her free time, Ms. Betty loved being around family, especially her grandkids. She enjoyed cooking, reading, and knitting.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Theodore Burnsed, her son: Michael Burnsed, and a sister: Patricia Chick.
She is survived by her daughter: Susan (Williard) Turner of the Georgia Bend; grandchildren: Mathew (Amanda) Shouse of Macclenny, Jeffrey (Jessica) Shouse of St. Augustine, Nicholas Turner of Folkston, Kenneth (April) Turner and William Turner all of Brunswick, and Brian Burnsed of Macclenny; 11 great- grandchildren; sister-in-law: Dorris Burnsed of Glen St. Mary; nephew: John (Kim) Chick of Rochester, New Hampshire; as well as numerous other family members and friends.
The family will be receiving friends Saturday, November 16, 2019 in the chapel of Forbes Funeral Home from 5:00 - 7:00 pm.
A graveside service to honor Ms. Betty's life will be held Sunday, November 17, 2019 at 3:00 pm at Oak Grove Cemetery, Macclenny with Rev. Cliff Adams officiating.
