Gladys Nell Koon, 100, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2011. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, in the Milton Shealy Funeral Home chapel, with interment in Ridge Crest Memorial Park with the Rev. Joyce Murphy and the Rev. Franklin E. Copeland officiating.

Mrs. Koon was born in Batesburg, SC, to the late Mark Boyd Bedenbaugh and Mattie Pearl Goff Bedenbaugh. She was married to the late Henry Monroe Koon. She was the former owner of Henry's Five Point Groceries in Batesburg. She was a member of Nazareth United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Eastern Star Chapter 174.

Surviving are her sisters, Louise Shealy and Phobe Hendrix, both of Saluda. She was preceded in death by brothers, Robert Earl, Ralph, Durham, Wilbur and Boyd Bedenbaugh; and sister, Farrah Harris.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 6, at Milton Shealy Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to: Nazareth United Methodist Church, Cemetery Fund, 3159 Spann Road, Leesville, SC 29070. Milton Shealy Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements
