Katherine S. Welsh, 79, of Columbus died at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, in Indianapolis.
Mrs. Welsh retired from Cummins Engine Co. and was a member of First Baptist Church and Order of the Eastern Star.
The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street with the Rev. Jon Carlstrom officiating. Calling will be from 1 p.m. until service time Wednesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of South Central Indiana.
Mrs. Welsh was born in Columbus Aug. 16, 1927, the daughter of Charles and Bertha Fitzgerald Stearman. She married Richard C. Welsh April 6, 1947.
Survivors include a nephew, C. William (Jennifer) Stearman of Carmel.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on Aug. 2, 1996; and a brother, William "Bill" Stearman.
