Allie was born in Coal County, OK to Richard M. Dye and Jessie Marshall.

Aletta was married to Lester Neil Gaddy Sr. August 29, 1921 in Colorado Springs, Co. The couple settled in Seattle, Washington where they raised their 5 children, Betty Jean, Peggie Marie, Dorothy Faye, Lester Neil jr. and Dale Eugene.
She filed for divorce from Lester in 1934, but she did not follow through on the divorce and they remained married until her death.

Allie would traveled to California regularly to visit her sister, Ola, taking with her, Dale, the youngest child.

She died in Los Angeles California at Pauling Rest Home.
Upon her death, Dale became a ward of the Childrens home society when his Aunt Ola could no longer care for him, and eventually he was adopted by a family in Santa Monica, Ca.
