Birdie Udell Francis, age 83, of Amarillo, Texas died Wednesday, December 3, 1997 at the Country Club Care Center.

Born in Conway, TX, March 29, 1914 to Isam Theodore and Dena Josephine McMullen Judd, she moved to Collingsworth County with her family in 1924. She married Floyd Estes Francis at Sayre, OK May 14, 1932.

Mrs. Francis was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She had made her home in Amarillo with a granddaughter, Debbie and Tom Bowerman for the last six years. She retired from Amarillo School system and Barnaby's Beanry Restaurant after many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1977; by her only son, Loran Ray Francis in 1956; and a grandson, Joe Michael Jones in 1990 and a son-in-law Dick McKeever in 1996, all of Amarillo, Tx.; and by her parents of Wellington, Tx.; three brothers, Thurston Judd of Portland, Oregon in 1950; Denny Judy in 1985 and J.R.(Jiggs) Judd of Azle, Tx. in 1996 and one sister, Ruth Ora Culp of Amarillo in 1995.

Survivors include one daughter, Maurice Francis McKeever; five granddaughters, Debbie Bowerman, Mary Bandy, Beverly Butler, Sharon Secore and Lorrie Tyson and two grandsons, Richard McKeever and Douglas Walker; 18 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; four brothers, Preston Judd, Dick Judd, O.L.(Buck) Judd and John Judd; five sisters, Helen Wisdom, Juanita Fister, Jnell Standifer, Imogene Johnson and Betty Linley.
