ELIZABETH ENTERLINE
---Death claimed another beloved lady the past week, Mrs. Elizabeth Enterline, succumbing at a very ripe old age. She was well known in this community where she enjoyed the friendship of many people and where she lived the major years of her life.
---Elizabeth Shupp, daughter of John and Sally Shupp, was born on March 2, 1845 in Bourke County, Pennsylvania, near the present city of Harrisburg. She died at Cardy, Missouri on September 23, 1935 at the age of ninety years, six months and twenty-one days.
---At the age of fourteen she came to Ohio with her parents. When she was seventeen she became a member of the Luthern Church and remained faithful to her belief until the end.
---After moving with her parents to Missouri she united in marriage to Edward Enterline on August 10, 1873. To this union six children were born, Jacob, who died in infancy, Mrs. Lotie Gupton and Roscoe Enterline of La Plata, Emery Enterline of Atlanta, Mrs. Effa McDavitt of Elmer and Carl Enterline of La Plata. Her husband, a Civil War veteran, died May 28, 1923.
---For the past three years Mrs. Enterline had been confined to her bed and bore her affliction with the same sweet disposistion she had always maintained. During this time she was tenderly cared for by the loving hands of her two sons, Carl and Roscoe, of the home. She always had been a great home lover and placed her home and family above all else. She appreciated her friends and was called "Grandma", by many who knew her.
---Besides the children mentioned she leaves to mourn seven grandchildren, Bryna and Eddie Gupton, La Plata, Lilbern Enterline, Atlanta, Ara Goodding of Kansas City, Mrs. Leota McDavitt of California and Robert and Basil McDavitt of Elmer, two great-grandchildren, Sheryl and Tommy Don Gupton of La Plata.
---Funeral services were held at the Community Presbyterian Church at La Plata, Wednesday afternoon, December 25, at 2:00, conducted by Rev. Fred L. Husson, pastor of the church. Interment in La Plata cemetery.
