CAROLINE EPPERSON
---Mary Caroline Epperson, 93, of LaPlata died at six o'clock Tuesday evening (Sept. 29, 1981) in the LaPlata Nursing Home where she had been a patient since 1974.
---Born Dec. 27, 1887 in Stevens County, Kan., she was the daughter of James Valentine and Mattie Belle Lockett Emerson. On Sept. 28, 1913 at Cherry Box, she was married to John Orville Epperson who preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 1961. Also preceding her in death were one brother, Pearl Emerson and one sister, Grace Norris.
---Surviving are one son, J. Paul Epperson of LaPlata; two daughters, Mrs. Erby (Mary) Francis and Mrs. Aden (Martha Ellen) Marsh, both of La Plata; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Nora Ray of Kirksville.
---Mrs. Epperson spent most of her married life on a farm west of Atlanta. In 1962 she moved to LaPlata.
---She was a member of the LaPlata Christian Church where funeral services will be held Friday afternoon (Oct. 2, 1981) at 1:30. The Rev. Arthur Drake, the Rev. Laura M. Smith and the Rev. Gary W. Smith, will conduct the services. Music will be provided by Rosina Berry, organist, and Trudy Pollock, soloist. The musical selection will be "How Great Thou Art." Burial will be in the LaPlata Cemetery.
---The body is at the Pollock Funeral Home in LaPlata, where it will remain until noon Friday when it will be taken to the church.
---Bearers will be her grandsons; Leon Francis, Roy Francis, Richard Marsh, Lee Epperson, John Cupp and Ray Francis.
