"FORT WORTH - Albert J. Blasingame Jr., 71, a retired Air Force chaplain, died Monday, April 21, 1997, in Fort Worth. Lt. Col. Albert J. Blasingame Jr. was born Dec. 21, 1925, in Jacksonville. He was a tail gunner in World War II and for 25 years was an Air Force chaplain. He taught the "Anglers Class" Bible class at Southcliff Baptist Church. He was a Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary alumnus and a volunteer with foreign students. He was a member of the Kemp Masonic Lodge and was an avid racquetball player. He received his BA in math from Baylor University, MS in education from East Texas State University and master of divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. Survivors: Wife, Virginia Frances Blasingame; daughters and son-in-law, Mary Blasingame, Myra Perry and Victor Perry and Martha Blasingame, all of Fort Worth; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Emmitt and Jeanine Lawhon of Tyler, John and Ruth Heck of Fort Worth and Georgia Petton of Mesquite; grandchildren, Evan and Sarah Perry; nieces and nephews; and many good friends around the world."
