Benjamin William Fancher was b. 1845 (census indicates 1848), Barren Co., KY; d. 19 April 1885, Metcalfe Co., KY. He m. Phoebe "Fannie" Frances Atwell (1848-1925) 25 April 1869. They had a son William Benjamin Fancher who is buried in Houk Cem., Metcalfe Co., KY. Ben & Fannie are buried in Rock Cemetery, Metcalfe Co., KY.

Father William J. Fancher d. 1863 in Metcalfe Co., KY. Pocahontas & Henry both work on the farm. Next door reside Marshall & Cinderella Gooden who own a good-sized farm. Pocahontas Fancher eventually marries their 22-yr old son, William Henry Gooden.

A request for pension benefits was filed on 8 April 1872 with regard to George's service with the Union forces during the Civil War. Elizabeth Fancher, listed as his beneficiary, is his mother.

Note: John & Nancy Fancher, also buried in this cemetery, are his paternal grandparents.

His brother, Henry Washington Fancher, b. April 5, 1861, Metcalfe Co., KY; d. July 28, 1934 in Monroe, Hart Co., Kentucky. He m. Chlora Sophia Nunn Fancher (27 June 1857-13 September 1933) 27 January 1879. They are buried in Houk Cem., Metcalfe Co., KY.

A brother, James B. Fancher, was b. 2 May 1857, Barren Co., KY; he d. 1859 in Barren Co., KY.

A brother, William T. Fancher was b. July 1859, Barren Co., KY. The father was listed as William Fancher. William T. Fancher, b. Jan. 4, 1851; d. Mar. 5, 1909; headstone reads "Son of W. and E." He's buried in Houk Cemetery, Metcalfe Co., Kentucky.

Sister Pocohontas Fancher Gooden is also buried in the Houk Cem (b. Mar. 20, 1855; d. Jul. 8, 1886); she married William Henry Gooden (b. Jun. 17, 1848; d. May 30, 1892); he is also buried in Houk Cem.
