Henry Baker

St. George - Henry Friend Baker, 91, southern Utah farmer and father of H. Cecil Baker, coach of Utah State University basketball, died Wednesday at his home here of natural causes.

Mr. Baker was born Nov. 20, 1867, in Minersville, Beaver County, a son of William and Francis Friend Baker. He married Amy Walker in the St. George Temple, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He was a former Minersville mayor, and was a bishop and high councilman in the Church. He served for 25 years as president and secretary of the Minersville Reservoir and Irrigation Co.

Survivors include his widow; five sons and two daughters: Alvin H., Delos and Mrs. Arlo (Blanche) Prisbrey, Salt Lake City; Mrs. Clinton (Lois) Milne, Cedar City; Jesse, Beaver; Harold, Minersville; H. Cecil, Logan.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 10 a.m. in the St. George Sixth Ward chapel. Additional services will be conducted at 3 p.m. in the Minersville Ward Chapel.
