Charles LeRoy ALdrich was born November 20, 1892 at River Falls WI to Curtis from Germany and Myrta from England. He was one of four sons, one of whom was later killed at the age of eight, when struck by lightning while attending a Ringling Bros. Circus in Wisconsin. His father, seated near him, was deafened by the bolt.
He married Mabel Johnson and had five children. The oldest, Doris, died at age of 15 months from complications of the flu during an epidemic. The other children were Neola, Orris, Myron and Merlyne Ann.
He is buried beside his wife at Verndale Green Lawn Cemetery. He is survived by four children and a sister, Charlotte Foster of Spokane WA.
