Mr. Shipplett was a son of the late Micajah Shipplett, and was born in Rockingham County about seventy-five years ago. He was a member of the Methodist Church and during his younger days was a well known miller. His wife, who was Miss Sarah May, died several years ago.
Surviving Mr. Shipplett are five daughters, Mrs. Mannie Lloyd, of Ablingdon, Ill; Mrs. E. C. Moyers, Mrs Lucy Tutwiler and Mrs. John S. Mitts, of Mount Crawford; Mrs. Annie Vawters, of near Blackburg; four sons, G. A., Joesph, Charles and Bud Shipplett, of Abingdon, Ill. He also leaves two brothers, M. H. Shipplett, of High Point, N.C., and George C. Shipplett, of Mount Crawford.
Owing to the arrival of the children from a distance the funeral arrangements had not been completed last night.
