    Helen M. Hurst (Nichols), 79, of Cottage Grove, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, April 25, 2002 at her home surrounded by her loving family after a long battle with Pancreatic Cancer. She was born on February 19, 1923 and lived all of her life in Aurora, IL, until she retired in Cottage Grove in 1992.
    She was married to Carl F. Hurst on November 25, 1938. She was a member of Amvets 103 for 25 years, VFW in Montgomery, Tiger Club Windows Club in Aurora, and Newcomers Canasta Club in Cottage Grove, TN.
    She is survived by two sons, Donald (Caren) Hurst of Montgomery, IL, Robert (JoAnn) Hurst of Cottage Grove, TN, and one daughter, Carol Turner of Cottage Grove, TN; two grandsons, Rob (Donna) Hurst of Oswego, IL, and Rick (Ginger) Hurst of Cottage Grove, TN; three granddaughters, Kim (Matt) Bowen and Kerrie (Brian) Hurst, both of Cottage Grove, TN, and Callan Hurst of Venice, FL; eighteen great grandchildren; and one great grandchild; a nephew, Art (Jan) Stiegleiter of Cottage Grove, TN; two nieces, Sandra Nilo of North Aurora and Darice Nichols of Oswego; a sister-in-law, Elaine Nichols of Oswego; one brother-in-law, Art (Lois) Stiegleiter of FL; and her dear friend of 70 years, Vivian Butcher of Montgomery.
    She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl F. Hurst; her parents, Clarence Bailey and Mabel May Wahl Nichols; a brother, Robert (Sonny) Nichols; a sister, Ruth Stiegeiter; and a nephew, Scott Nichols.
    Helen will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.
    A memorial service will be held Friday, May 3, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. at THE DALEIDEN LAKE STREET MORTUARY, 220 North Lake Street, Aurora, IL. Interment will be private.
    Memorial Visitation will be held Friday, May 3 from 5 p.m. until the time of service at 7 p.m. at THE DALEIDEN LAKE STREET MORTUARY, 220 N. Lake Street, Aurora. (630) 898-8634
