Robert W. Rhoads Sr., 92, West Reading, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2011, in his residence. He was the widower of Ellenora (Kroenig) Rhoads.
Born in Reading, he was a son of the late Irvin A. and Annie V. (Hart) Rhoads.
Robert was a 1936 graduate of Wilson High School. He was a credit manager for 24 years for Automotive Service, Sinking Spring, retiring in 1973.
Robert was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in World War II. He was also a member of Wyomissing UCC, Gouglersville.
He is survived by his five children: Robert W. Rhoads Jr., West Reading; John A., husband of Donna Rhoads, Salida, Colo.; Mark I., husband of Robin Rhoads, Fleetwood; Rosalie A., wife of Newton Bruington, Las Vegas, Nev.; and Mary R., wife of Dennis Sicher, Norristown.
Also surviving are his brother, Heber W. Rhoads, Sinking Spring; sister, Shirley M. Richuitti, Reading; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Robert was predeceased by six siblings.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Edward J. Kuhn Funeral Home Inc., 739 Penn Ave., West Reading.
A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Hain's Church Cemetery.
