Odell Ellis Brizendine, 76, of Blacksburg, died Saturday, November 26, 1994, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. Mr. Brizendine was born in Craig County on September 20, 1918, a son of the late Edward and Lemmer Sloan Brizendine. He was a veteran of World War II. Preceding him in death was a son, Billy G. Brizendine. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mabel Hutchinson Brizendine; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Clorene Brizendine, Richmond, Roger and Patsy Brizendine, Larry (Jake) and Cindy Brizendine, Terry Brizendine, all of Blacksburg; sister, Clare Lincoln, Roanoke; two brothers, Burnell Brizendine, Salem and Carl Brizendine, Roanoke; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 29, at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Vincent J. Guerra officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
