William W. Bowser, 80, of Worthington, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at his home. He was born Oct. 12, 1930, in Kittanning, a son of the late Spurgeon Bowser and Florence (Campbell) Bowser. He was a lifelong resident of the community. He was retired from Pullman Standard and was a member of Worthington Evangelical Lutheran Church. He enjoyed camping at Cooks Forest and his camp at Slippery Rock. He also enjoyed taking Carnival Cruises and eating breakfast every morning at the Valley Dairy in Kittanning. Survivors include his daughter, Cynthia J. (Ken) Burke, of Florida; son, William D. (Patti) Bowser, of Butler; son, Kenneth W. Bowser, of Ohio; daughter, Sally A. (Woody) Kirkwood, of Kittanning; son, Mark L. Bowser, of Kittanning; daughter, Marty Stewart, of East Brady; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sister, Jean (Arnold) Davis, of Cowansville; brother, Robert K. (Esther) Bowser, of Kittanning; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jaunita "Jean" Bowser, who passed away Jan. 31, 2007; daughter, Michelle Jean McMillen; and great-granddaughter, Zoe Grant. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the F. DUANE SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 119 Beat St., Worthington. Additional visitation will be held from 10 until the time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Lawrence Camberg officiating.
