DWIGHT LONG dies at 40

Hope-Dwight L. Long, a well known Hope community farmer, real estate broker and auctioneer, died Tuesday at St. Francis Hospital in Wichita following a short illness. He was 30.

Mr. Long was born May 19, 1942, at Abilene, a son of Vernen and Doris Long.

He was married to Linda Yochum on November 9, 1969 at Kiowa.

He was a member of the Rosebank Brethren in Christ Church, rural Hope. He had served as a member of the U. S. Army Reserves. He was a former 4-H leader and was a member of the Hope Young Farmers. He had been active in many community service activities.

Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Justin, and a daughter, Stacy, both of the home; his parents, Mr. and Mrs Verden Long, Hope; and two sisters, Lois Lind, Oakland, Neb., and Letha Kraus, Appleton, Wisc.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today (Thursday) at the Rosebank Church south of Hope. Burial will be in the Ashton Cemetery, Hope.

A family visitation was held Wednesday evening at the Carlson Funeral Home in Hope.

Memorials have been requested to the American Cancer Society or to the Rosebank Church Building Fund.
