Obituary: Jefferson City Post Tribune, Wednesday, December 29, 1993

Alpha D. Scott, 86, Jefferson City, died Monday at Still Regional Medical Center. She was born Oct. 7, 1907, in Olean, the daughter of Elijah and Virginia Berry Miller. She was married Aug. 21, 1926, in Tuscumbia to Delmar Scott, who died Sept 24, 1989.

A homemaker, she was a member of First Baptist Church in California and a member of the Sunshine Club. She attended Olean High School.

Survivors include: one son, Paul Scott, Columbia; three daughters, Marie Colvin, Jefferson City, Wanda Hilgedick, Hartsburg, and Carol Bossaller, Lincoln, Neb.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by two infant sons, Jewell Scott and Larue Scott.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Bowlin-Cantriel Funeral Chapel, Califorrnia. The Rev. Randy Fullerton will officiate. Burial will be in the Olean Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or First Baptist Church.
