N.T. LUCAS
Service for N.T. Lucas, 56, 110 Skinner Rd., is pending at West Funeral Home. Mr. Lucas died at his home on Thursday.
He was born Jan. 28, 1933, in Montevallo, Ala., where he was raised and educated. He graduated from Montevallo High School in 1951. He served four years with the U.S. Navy and was discharged in 1956. On May 16, 1953, he married Mattie Evelyn Anderson in Columbus, Miss. They made their home in Montevallo where he worked as an industrial painter and contractor. They moved to New Mexico in 1985, living in Wagon Mound befroe moved to Carlsbad in 1988. He ranched southwest of Carlsbad and attended Cavern Baptist Church. He was a member of Guy T. Smith Lodge #88e in Mobile, Ala.
Survivors include his wife, Mattie Evelyn Lucas, Carlsbad; one son, Ronnie Lucas, Carlsbad; five daughters, Rhonda White, and Merideth, Sandra, Mary Evelyn and Mattie Lucas, all of Carlsbad; two brothers, Ernest R. Lucas, Montevallo, and Gerald Lucas, Mobile; three sisters, Eloise March, Cordaline, Idaho, Roberta Reynaud, Shreveport, La., and Edith Reid, Montevallo; and two grandchildren.

Service for N.T. Lucas, 56, 110 Skinner Rd. is to be held Monday at 10 a.m. at Cavern Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter of Carlsbad and the Rev. Herby Morgan of the Magnolia Springs Baptist Church in Mobile, Ala., officiating. Burial is to be in Carlsbad Cemetery.
Mr. Lucas died at his home on Nov. 16, 1989.
A Masonic graveside service is to be conducted by Eddy Lodge #21 AF&AM. The Lodge of Sorrows will convene at the Masonic Temple at 9:15 a.m.
Pallbearers are to be Wade Anderson, Randy Anderson, David Lucas, Pat Hall, Roger Jenkins and Bill Littrell.
West Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
