Samuel L. Baker, 79, of 51 Union street, Brownsville, died Sunday, April 3, 1955, at 1 a.m. at his home.
He was born Feb 29, 1876, in Deemston Borough, a son of the late Nehemiah and Anna Meese Baker, and had resided in Brownsville for the past 74 years.
He was an employee of the Hillman Coal and Coke Co., and previously by the Hillman Company's predecessor the Diamond Coal Co., for more than 50 years, retiring in 1945.
Mr. Baker was a member of Cedar Lodge 298, F and A.M. of Pittsburgh, and the Pittsburgh Consistory. He was also a member of the UMWA Local 1787, of Daisytown.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lou Trexler Baker.
