Dorothy Mae Barker, 88, of Paris Crossing died at 9:34 a.m. Monday, May 26, 2008, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.
Mrs. Barker was a homemaker, had been involved in farming and was employed as an attendant at the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center in Butlerville for 14½ years. She was a member of Coffee Creek Christian Church near Paris Crossing.
She enjoyed quilting, gardening and sewing.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Coffee Creek Christian Church with the Revs. Ron McKinney and Sherman Thomas officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home in North Vernon and from 10 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church. Burial will be at Coffee Creek Christian Cemetery.

Born May 23, 1920, in Owsley County, Ky., Mrs. Barker was the daughter of William and Amanda Caudill McIntosh. She married Woodrow C. Barker on Oct. 4, 1938, in North Vernon.
Surviving are sons, Terry Wayne Barker of Greenwood, Roger Dale (Lorraine) Barker and Norman Edward Barker, both of Columbus, Billy Joe (Betty) Barker of Seymour and Earnest Lee Barker of Commiskey; a daughter, Pauline Sue (Paul) Brooks of North Vernon; a brother, Hubert McIntosh of North Vernon; a sister, Julian Manning of Commiskey; 15 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Oct. 10, 1996; a daughter, Ireva Mae Barker; brothers, Herbert, Chester, Henry, Carl and Brownlow McIntosh and William McIntosh Jr.; and sisters, Bertha Perry, Etta Kessinger and Jean Burwell.
