LeRoy was born May 10th, 1936 in Chicago, IL. He passed away on Friday January 7th at St. Vincent Hospice in Indianapolis, after a courageous battle with cancer. LeRoy graduated from Taft High school Class of 1954. He married the love of his life, Dorothy, in 1960. They started a family and resided in Mt. Prospect, IL.
He was employed with Amoco Oil for 36 years. He enjoyed 18 years of retirement as a world traveler and enjoyed spending his winters in Naples, FL. LeRoy was dedicated to Boy Scouts and received the highest honors. He was also an active volunteer in numerous organizations. Most recently he was a board member of Lake Holiday Home Owners Association in Crawfordsville, IN.
Lee is survived by his mother Lillian Beening, sister LaVerne (Jim) Sanford, and his children Ann (Scott) Nejman, John (Lauren) Beening, Michael (Diane) Beening, David (Kristi) Beening, and Elizabeth Beening, and grandchildren Jamie, Jennifer, Jonathon, Kyle, Cameron, Courtney, and Morgan and many nieces and nephews and his favorite four-legged walking partner, Harley. He was preceded in death by his father Arthur Beening and his wife Dorothy Beening. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society would be graciously appreciated.
