Survivors: son, Edward L., St. Joseph, Mo., Robert E., Kansas City, Mo.; daughter, Joanne Carter, Emporia, Kan.; brothers, Herman Smith, Salem, Ore., Clifford Smith, Troy, Kan.; sister, Leona McKay, Hiawatha, Kan.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews.

Services: 11 a.m. Sunday, Williams Funeral Home, Superior. Guide Rock Cemetery. Visitation: 9 a.m.-8 p.m. today, funeral home.

Elnora May Sansom the daughter of Walter A. and Bessie E. (Ackerson) Smith was born December 25, 1911 on a farm in Webster County, Nebraska near Guide Rock. She departed this life on Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at the Superior Good Samaritan Center in Superior, at the age of 94 years.

Elnora grew up in the Guide Rock area and attended Guide Rock Schools. On January 29, 1929 she was united in marriage to Edward Albert Sansom, Jr. at Mankato, Kan. This union was blessed with the birth of three children, two sons and one daughter. Elnora and Ed lived in the Guide Rock area until 1967 when the couple moved to Superior to make their permanent home. Elnora was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ed in 1996, one sister and one brother.

Survivors include her son Edward L. Sansom of St. Joseph, Mo., Robert E. Sansom of Kansas City, Mo., daughter Joanne Carter of Emporia, Kan., brothers: Herman Smith of Salem, Ore., and Clifford Smith of Troy, Kan., sister: Leona McKay of Hiawatha, Kan., six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, August 19, 2006 at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Superior. Melissa Wilt officiated. Interment was in the Guide Rock Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.wmsfh.com. Williams Funeral Home of Superior was in charge of the arrangements.
