Forrester Asher, Sr., age 67, Huntington, died at 4:05 p.m. Friday (May 15, 2009) at the Meadowvale Health Care Center in Bluffton.
He was born on October 15, 1941 in Hardburley, Kentucky, the son of James and Mary (Wooten) Asher. Forrester married Lori A. Bartrom on October 19, 1990 in Huntington, and she survives.
Forrester was a member of the American Legion Post #85 and Fraternal Eagles Lodge #823 both in Huntington.
Survivors include his wife of 18 years – Lori A. Asher of Huntington; two sons – Troy Asher (Deanna) of Huntington and Forrester "Bub" Asher, Jr. (Debbie) of South Whitley; one daughter – Lori Reust (Larry) of Freemont, Ohio; one stepson – Nathan Scher of Huntington; one brother – Arville Asher (Helen) of Huntington; two sisters – Mary Helen Brockhous of Huntington and Sally J. Chittick of Huntington; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by parents, two brothers – Jimmy Asher, Sr. and Wally Asher.
A celebration of life with family and friends will be Saturday (May 23, 2009) from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. at the Bailey-Love Mortuary. No memorial services.
