A retired homemaker and employee with the State of Louisiana, she died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 79, a resident of Port Allen and a native of Plaquemine. Visiting at Wilbert Funeral Home, Port Allen, on Tuesday, Jan. 6, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting at Holy Family Catholic Church, Port Allen, on Wednesday, from 8:30 a.m. until religious service at 10:30 a.m., celebrated by the Rev. Henry Vavasseur and pending Monsignor Robert Berggreen. Entombment in St. John Cemetery Mausoleum. Survived by two sisters, Dee Dee Allain and Myrtle Haydel; brother, Charles "Benny" Richard and wife Effie Lee; a brother-in-law, Vernon "Nunny" Doiron and wife Byrdie; sister-in-law, Rita Doiron Frexlaux and husband Chuck; daughter, Rhonda Doiron Sellers and husband David; two sons, Brian Paul "Wiggle" Doiron and wife Theresa, Kenny James Doiron and partner Shan Couvillion; caregiver and friend, Barbara Bell of Heritage House of Baton Rouge; numerous nieces and nephews; eight grandchildren, Shaun Paul Doiron and wife Amber Powell, Tessa Michelle Sellers Robinson and husband Michael, Ashley Renee Doiron and boyfriend Mitch Crousillac, Chad Joseph Doiron and wife Ashley Marcelle, Melissa Kay Doiron and fiancee' Denise Wayne Adams Jr., Tracy Lynn Sellers and boyfriend Josh Ankeny, Brandy Rachelle Doiron and boyfriend Anthony Brice Guidry, Ty Joseph Sellers and three grandpups, Maxwell Francis, Collin Lloyd, Barkley Baxter; five great-grandchildren, Broc Christian, Alissa Ann, Corinne Alexis, Chloe Ann, Olivia Nicole, and one on the way. Preceded in death by parents, Charles Agustus "Bee" Richard and Oneilda "Dada" Tullier; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Pierre Emille Doiron and Pearl Pitre Doiron; husband, Joseph Donald Doiron; sisters, Aurelia "Tugar" Angeron, Helen Guidry, Julia Daigle Cambre, infant Margaret Richard; brothers, Randolph "T-boy" Richard, Paul "T-luke" Richard, infant Joseph Richard; one grandpup, Baxter Wesley. Pallbearers will be grandsons, nephews and friends. She was a graduate of Plaquemine High School where she was a Majorette and leader of the high school band for the Plaquemine High Green Devils. She was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church, and adorer for the Adoration chapel, volunteer for Holy Family Church and School for many years. She was a part of "The Big Blue Bunch" cheer squad for Port Allen High School during her son's high school years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, wife and prayer partner. She loved to cook and feed the ones she loved. Never met a stranger and always had open arms and heart for all she encountered regardless of race, religion, or creed.
