The Franklin Democrat, Friday, May 21, 1880, Volume I, Number 46, page 2, column 6

The funeral services of M. V. Tracy whose remains were recently brought from Nebraska, and his brother, R. M. Tracy, who was killed about fifteen years ago, will be held in the Presbyterian church on next Sunday at 8 o’clock p.m. Rev. J. B. Logan, a former pastor of this church, and whose reputation as a revivalist is familiar to all, will conduct the services. The manner in which these two brothers met their death is somewhat peculiar. R. M. Tracy, as before stated, was killed about fifteen years ago by being thrown from a horse, and the manner in which M. V. met his sad fate is still fresh in the memory of all. Mattie was an excellent boy, one whose character was above reproach, and when he departed for Nebraska, he left a host of friends who will be present to say the last tribute of respect to his memory.

The Franklin Democrat, Friday, May 28, 1880, Volume I, Number 47, page 2, column 5

The funeral of the Tracy Bros. was largely attended by the people of this neighborhood, at Whiteland Sunday 24d inst. Funeral was preached by Rev. J. B. Logan.
