Isaac Crofoot was the keeper of a hotel for many years in Lewis co, NY. In the History of Lewis co, NY, it states that Isaac Crofoot was a judge of the county court, he was later known as "Judge Crofoot."
His son Lewis and son-in-law George Elliot located with their families in Fond du Lac co, Wisconsin, about 1839-40.
At a late age Isaac left his home in NY and settled on a farm close to his son Lewis, about 4 miles from the city of Fond du Lac. There he died in 1868 at age of 84. His widow survived him until 1874.
Isaac Crofoot was appointed postmaster of West Leyden, Lewis, New York, 13 Mar 1838.

Eliza is still with them, but intends being married this fall, when she will leave them alone, as she is their youngest child.
