She was born on April 18, 1904 in Marceline, MO and has been a resident of Albuquerque, NM since 1927. Zina will be remembered for her quick wit, humor, determination, and integrity. She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-one years, William F. Hemphill; her daughter, Wanda Thornberry; three brothers; and two sisters. She is survived by one daughter, Peggy Gallbreth and husband, Bill; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and Sharon and Richard Swallows, lifetime friends. A special "thank you" to Presbyterian Hospice. At her request a private celebration of her life will be held in Santa Fe at the home of her granddaughter, Linda Owens and husband, Kent.
