She married A. W. (Bill) Blount (now deceased) in June 1944. Over the next twenty years, that marriage was blessed by the births of three sons and one daughter: William Douglas, Kerry Andrew, Brian Paul, and Christina Evelyn Blount, all of whom survive her. She later married Alfred Anderson, who also predeceased her. Seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews have been blessed by her love.
Evelyn was a devoted member of the Church of Christ, joyfully serving her Lord in many capacities, including as a devoted Christian mother, Sunday school teacher, church secretary, and missionary assistant in Papua New Guinea. Throughout her life, Evelyn's steadfast demonstration of love, kindness, and empathy for others was the hallmark of her character. Considered "an angel" by many she touched with acts of service over decades, she continually pointed them to God as the giver of all good gifts.
A Private Graveside Service will be held Monday, January 4, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity serving those in need. Please visit our online guest book for Evelyn at
