Joseph Swindell Buck, 75 of Sand Springs, Oklahoma passed away Friday, August 13, 2010 at his home. Joe was born on July 16, 1935 in Washington, North Carolina to Joseph Monroe and Julia Elizabeth (Moore) Buck. Joe entered the Navy on March 9, 1954 and served until December 4, 1961 during which time he fought in the Korean War and was honorably discharged. Joe was a truck driver for Feed the Children in Oklahoma City. He drove for almost 10 years. He was a life-time member of the DAV, and a member of the Mannford Assembly of God. Joe received a bachelor's degree in engineering from Kansas State University. On September 10, 1992 he married Juanita Pearl Fast in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Juanita passed away on October 19, 2004.

Joseph is survived by three sons, four grandchildren, one sister and her husband; a special friend.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Juanita.

Graveside services were held Monday, August 16, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at the A.J. Powell Cemetery. Mike Rogne officiated the service and the musical selections were "One Day At a Time" and "The Anchor Holds". Military services were conducted by the VFW 5th District Rifle Squad.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Powell Funeral Home, Hominy, Oklahoma.
