Mrs. Madeline Baird Fay, 76, died Wednesday, June 9, 1999, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Fay was born March 4, 1923, in Greenville and was a 1940 graduate of Cleveland High School in Cleveland, Miss. She attended Mississippi State College for Women and Millsaps College and was a Navy Waves veteran of World War II. She had been a resident of Biloxi since 1978 and was a Methodist.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. James Jerome Baird and Jimmie Scruggs Baird; and a sister, Geraldine "Gerrie" Baird Moore.
Survivors include her husband, Robert L. Fay of Biloxi; two sons, Robert L. Fay Jr., of Spanaway, Wash., and James Baird Fay of Biloxi; a daughter, JoAnne Stark of Franktown, Colo.; two sisters, Martha Baird and Mrs. William "Evelyn" Fondren Sr., both of Memphis; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2:15 p.m. Friday at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home on Beauvoir Road in Biloxi. A procession will then leave the funeral home for a 2:30 p.m. graveside service at Biloxi National Cemetery.
The family prefers memorials to the American Cancer Society, 182-A DeBuys Road, Biloxi, MS 39531-4402.
