Erwin R. Borowski, 82,640 W. Birch, died Monday, Nov. 21, at his home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 25, at Church of Peace United Methodist, Fergus Falls. Rev. Philip Strom will officiate and burial will be in Knollwood Cemetery.
One of six children of Adolph and Alma Borowski, he was born April 3, 1901, in Chicago, Ill. He was baptized on May 19, 1901, in St. Peters Evangelical Church. Until 1909, he lived in Chicago then, he and his parents moved to Western Township where he was raised and received his education.
He farmed in Western Township. On Nov. 9,1932, he and Erma Rufer were married at Ebenezer Church and they resided on the farm in Western Township until 1945, when they moved to Fergus Falls.
After moving to Fergus Falls, he worked at Red River Milling Company for several years before working at Park Region (Metz) Bakery for seven years. Next, he was employed on the Park Board and also worked as a custodian in the local schools and at the hospital. Lastly, he was a custodian at Iverson Rest Area until retiring in 1980 because of his health.
He was a member of the Church of Peace United Methodist church.
Survivors include his wife, Erma; three daughters, Mrs. Wally (Laura) Larson, Milwaukee, Wis., Mrs. John (Loena) Paulson, Wilmar and Mrs. Jerry (Amanda) Bisted, Brainerd; one son, Roger of Gainsville, Wis.; 12 grandchildren and two great-granchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation at Glende-Johnson-Nelson Funeral Home, Fergus Falls, will be all day Thursday, continue Friday morning and resume one hour prior to services at the church.
