Visitation will be on Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Gibson Funeral Home, Port Byron. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Those wishing to attend the graveside services should meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. on Monday. Memorials may be made to the Cunningham Children's Home, Urbana, Ill.
The former Florence Adams was born March 13, 1926, in Jameson, Mo., the daughter of Lloyd and Gracie Smith Adams. She married Forrest Foster in 1942, in Spickard, Mo. She later married Howard Sumlin on Dec. 11, 1982, in Rock Island. He died on Oct. 16, 1995.
She had been employed as a cook at the Quad City Downs and at several area restaurants. She had also been an apartment manager.
She was a former member of the VFW Auxiliary in Missouri. She enjoyed fishing and making quilts. She had made quilts for people all over the country.
Survivors include sons, Lloyd Foster, Hillsdale, Forrest Foster, Trenton, Mo.; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Loraine Spickard, Trenton; and a special friend, Charles "Dick" Bell, Hillsdale. She was preceded in death by a son, Ora Stark Jr.
