Sara Jane Schmeck, 82, Milford, Del., formerly of Reading, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at Milford Center, Milford, Del. Mrs. Schmeck was born in Reading. She was one of 17 children. She was a daughter of the late Herman Bonsall and Anna (Leonard) Bonsall. Her husband, George, also preceded her in death. Mrs. Schmeck worked at various candy factories throughout Pennsylvania. She attended Milford Senior Center and enjoyed crossword puzzles.

She is survived by four children: Betty Bonsall Simpson, Paul "Mikey" Bonsall and David Bonsall and Michael Charles Ebersole; six of her siblings: four sisters and two brothers; two grandchildren, one of whom looked after her for the past 18 years, Valerie Killinger, wife of Rueben; and David Weiler, and wife, Susan; four great-grandchildren: Tabitha Killinger Cortijo, and husband, Shawn; Dustin Killinger; and Amanda and Andrew Weiler; four foster great-grandchildren: John Michael Janette, Anthony Bonville, Jalil Davis and Toriano Colson; and one great-great-grandson who is due to be born this Sunday, Logan James Cortijo.

Services will be private and burial will be at St. John's Cemetery, Gibraltar. Arrangements handled by Berry-Short Funeral Home, Milford, Del.
