HAVELOCK — Beulah Gupton Coleman, 84, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at Cherry Point Bay (formerly Britthaven) of Havelock.

Beulah joined Cherry Point Chapter Number 289 of The Order of the Eastern Star on Sept. 27, 1977, and filled the station of Esther for a number of years. Her interest was encouraged and shared by her husband, Edward L. Coleman, a member of the Cherry Point Masonic Lodge. Members of both organizations became like a second family. She also was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church, Havelock.

Survivors include her children, Patricia Coleman-Sherwood and husband Patrick Sherwood of Belhaven; Michael E. Coleman, of Havelock and Gary M. Coleman and wife, Kimberley DeVilbiss-Coleman, of Colorado Springs, Col.; and grandchildren, Stephen E. Tyler, of Belhaven, Michael E. Coleman Jr., of Havelock, and Kayla J., Spencer E. and Kent A. Coleman of Colorado Springs, Col.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Coleman, and her siblings, Frederick and Edward Gupton, Ruth G. Marshall and Lucile G. Aycock.

The family will receive friends at Cotten Funeral Home, 2201 Neuse Blvd., New Bern, from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at Cotten Funeral Home, with the Rev. Glenn Everett officiating.

The burial will follow in Greenleaf Memorial Park.

Flowers are welcome, but donations also may be made in Beulah's name to The Foundation for Hospice through Continuum Hospice, 1505 Glenburnie Road, New Bern, NC 28562.
