Born in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of George Alfred and Maddie Ellen (Young) Trapp. She married Vurnie "Buddy" Armstrong Johnson on Nov. 24, 1936, in Olton, Texas. As a young child she was baptized in the faith of the Church of God in the Blue River. She was a resident of Bache and died there at the age of 94. Survivors include her daughters, Ella May Brochu, of the home, and Ginger Kaye Johnson, of the home; brothers, Walter Orville Trapp, of Tulsa, Paul Allen Trapp and wife, Irene, Montgomery, Ala., and Glenn A. Trapp and wife, Wanda, of Durant. Also, twin sister, Helen VanHuss, of Virginia; sisters, Millie Fae Kemp and husband, Clarence, of McAlester, and Ina Lucinda "Cindy" Garrett and husband, Andy, of Tishomingo. And, grandchildren, Rickie Lynn Sudduth and Bobbie, Luckitta Sudduth and James, Vernia Mitchell and Rick, Patrick Brochu and Debbie, Norman Brochu and Mary, Jeannette Hammer and Dave, Vera Roberts and Jimmy, Lorraine Jernigen and Gregory, George Bridges, Richard Bridges, Bessie Jewel Bridges, Patsy Pendergraft and Nathaniel, Vernie Jean Bridges, Sherry Lynn Bridges and Nancy Sudduth, and numerous great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Johnson; parents, George and Myrtle (Rose) Trapp; mother, Maddie Trapp; daughters, Edna Jewel Bridges and Mary Ellen Sudduth; grandson, Melvin Sudduth; brothers, Albert Lain Trapp, Garland Roy Trapp, Larry Elihue Trapp and Pearl Enid Trapp, and sister, Edith Trapp. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011 at Chaney's Memorial Chapel with the Rev. J.T. Carnell officiating. Burial will be at North Town Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Chaney-Harkins Funeral Home of McAlester. Pallbearers will be Patrick Brochu, Norman Brochu, Rickie Sudduth, Brian Sawyer, Jason Brown and Houston Hammer. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Hammer, Ray McFarland and Kenny Arnold.
