Born in Newark, NJ P.J. Lived all his life in Belleville. Belleville 3rd Ward Councilman From July of 2008 to January 2011. President of The Belleville Irish Association. He was retired from the Essex County Sheriffs Department and Essex County Jail Annex. He was a long time member and officer of the Newark St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee. He was on the board of governors of the Giblin Association and a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians of Montclair and the Nutley Irish Association where he was Deputy Grand Marshal of the 29th St. Patrick's Day Parade. P.J. was a member of the Ironbound Irish-American Association. the Cryan Association, McGovern Association, and the Belleville Knights of Columbus. He was the standard bearer of the Paul J. Mac Donald Association and was also honored as Essex County "Irishman of the Year". He was an honoree at the 26th annual benefit of Project Children. He was also recognized by the Kevin G. Kennedy Civic Association with their Community Service Award in 2010. P.J. served in the Army Military Police during the Vietnam war. He was the beloved husband of Janet Boyd Mac Donald, father of Coleen, Sheila Lisi, Aileen Miller & her husband Patrick, Grandfather of Allison,Gianna, Janet, Michela, John and Katelyn and great-grandfather of Brandon, brother of Ray, Greg, and John Mac Doanld and his sister Joan Czekalski
