MUNCIE - Bobby K. Abbott, 67, went to be with the Lord Tuesday afternoon, January 11, 2011 at Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.





He was born, December 16, 1943 in Muncie, the son of Corius and Duva (Lewis) Abbott, and attended Muncie Central High School.

Mr. Abbott served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Abbott was a lead shipman at Graphic Packaging for over fifty years prior to his retirement.

He was a member of Brookside Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing, traveling, and country gospel.

Surviving are his wife of forty-two years, Myrtle (Worley) Abbott; a sister, Imogene Perry (Robert), Muncie; a sister-in-law, Debera Abbott, Muncie; a god-son, Jesse Crawford, Jr. (Barb), Muncie; a god-daughter, Josette Silence (Kevin), Portland; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Harold Abbott.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2011 in The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel with Pastor O. Gene McComas officiating. Entombment will follow in Elm Ridge Cemetery with Military Rites by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.
