Mr. Harold Jack McDonald, Sr., age 76, died Tuesday, January 11, 2011, at Piedmont Medical Center in Rock Hill.

Born in Hardin County,Kentucky,Jack was the son of the late Donald E. McDonald and Daisy Ophelia Lyon McDonald. His mother passed away when he was 11 months old,and then he was raised by his grandparents,Geneva Frances Lyon and Fred Thomas Lyon.He was retired from Southern Bell,where he known as the world's greatest cable splicer and was a retired member of CWA.Jack was anactive member of Belair United Methodist Church,where he was president of the Lewis Followship Sunday School Class and served on the cemetery committee along with other various committees.He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for more than 20 years and was a Belair Precinct Poll Manager from 1980-2000.Jack served as president of the Indian Land Volunteer Fire Department during the 1970's and 1980's. He enjoyed collecting match book covers. Jack's purpose in life was caring for his family and other people.

Surviving are his wife,Peggy McDonald;three children,CassieStump (Randy),Harold McDonald Jr. and Mack McDonald,all of Indian Land;his aunt,Ruth DeVine of Louisville,KY;and his grandaughter,Allison McDonald.
