Death has robbed us of our mother,
Whom we loved and cherished dear;
It was mother! yes, dear mother;
We can't help but shed a tear.
Yes, we miss her; Oh! how we miss her,
When we see her vacant chair;
But how sad the room looks without her,
For there is no mother here.
How we loved her! yes, loved her!
Oh! no earthly tongue can tell;
Yes, the angels they have called her
Up to heaven there to dwell.
But cheer up; we know she's waiting
For her dear ones ever more;
And she is singing with the angels
On that bright and golden shore.
