Joyce A. Fuerst, 79, died Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at Lima Memorial Health System. She was born June 22, 1940, in Lima to Kenneth and Lucille (Weaver) Irwin. They both preceded her in death.
On November 24, 1960, she married Thomas W. Fuerst and he survives near Columbus Grove.
Joyce is survived by a son, Christopher Fuerst; a daughter, Rose (Kenneth) Polovich; a granddaughter, Shawna (James Baker) Weidman; four great grandchildren, Nataleighann, Miranda, Mason and JJ Baker; and two sisters, Betty Basinger and Norma (Pearl) Miller.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert "Bobbie" Fuerst; two grandchildren, Paige and T. J. Weidman; two brothers, Paul (Virginia) Irwin and Richard Irwin; and a brother in-law, David Basinger.
Joyce attended Columbus Grove High School. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Joyce was a 4-H advisor for many years, a member of Columbus Grove American Legion Auxillary, Columbus Grove Garden Club and the Bluffton Garden Club. She enjoyed her flowers, cooking, playing Bingo, camping at Twin Lakes, in Bluffton and making and painting ceramic figurines. Joyce especially loved spending time with friends and her family.
Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 20, 2020, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Columbus Grove. Father David Ritchie will officate with burial in St. Anthony Cemetery.
