This is my grandfather on my fathers side. Sadly we never met him. His death was of his own taking. As my father use to say he stood on the tracks waving a white flag as if to say he gave up. He was an honored soldier, receiving many metals. My grandmother was a school teacher and was a very strong women. She raised all 4 children on her own, with help from her sisters and mother.
